Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and psoriasis are both chronic immune-mediated diseases. SLE is caused by T-helper 1 (Th1), Th2, Th17, B cell axis activation, while primarily driven Th17 activation. Coexistent has been reported. A phase II trial of patients with active demonstrated that ustekinumab (interleukin (IL)12 23 blockade) resulted in significant Responder Index improvement when added to standard therapy.
